Guatemala’s National Electric Energy Commission (CNEE) has awarded 250 MW in an energy tender. Over 60 companies took part in the bid.
The Prensa Libre newspaper named the established price at $109.38/MWh. The power plants awarded in the tender must begin operations by 2018.
This was the third tender held in the country for long-term contracts, with 850 MW awarded overall. The power will be supplied from 2015 to local distributors Energuate and Empresa Eléctrica de Guatemala (Eegsa).
