OTTAWA, BC, April 5, 2002 — Thermal Energy International Inc. has announced the completion of the engineering design phase for the OPTINOx™ and THERMALONOx™ Phase #I pilot plant, which is planned for construction in the near future.
As previously announced, the planned Phase #I research and development (R&D) is expected to confirm the viability of the company’s patented Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) air pollution control technologies.
The Phase #I R&D is partly supported by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) (www.nrc.ca) and Astaris LLC (www.astaris.com).
The experimental OPTINOx™ and THERMALONOx™ Phase #I pilot plant is to be integrated in tandem with one of Thermal Energy’s existing and operating FLU-ACE® Condensing Reactive scrubbing systems.
The company expects to announce the pilot plant location and more details in the near future; once the final definitive agreement is in place with the designated pilot plant site owner and satisfied FLU-ACE® customer.
