PEI welcomes new technical editor

John Zink, Power Engineering International`s (PEI) new Technical Editor, is a new face to publishing but an old hand to the electric power generation industry. He has a PhD in mechanical/nuclear engineering from the University of Notre Dame and spent five years as an assistant professor of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in the `70s. He left OU to supervise the Black Fox Nuclear Project for Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO). When the project was scuttled, he moved on as Central & South West Services vice president and research and development director in Dallas, Texas, USA.

The utility moved him back to Oklahoma as director of production services for PSO in 1988. Most recently, he headed AGC research and development. He is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program and the and University of Michigan Public Utility Executive Program. He is a registered professional engineer in Oklahoma, Texas and California, USA.
