Turkey contracts for 480 MW station
National Power, Marubeni Corp. and Unit Investments S.A. have signed an agreement to build a 480 MW combined-cycle gas turbine power station in Turkey. It will be built at Marmara Ereglisi, 100 km west of Istanbul. The plant will be built by ABB under a turnkey contract, with the station to be operational in late 1998.
“Turkey has Europe`s fastest growing demand for electricity, with capacity expected to almost double to 30,000 MW by 2000,” said Keith Henry, National Power`s CEO.
