Turkey contracts for 480 MW station

National Power, Marubeni Corp. and Unit Investments S.A. have signed an agreement to build a 480 MW combined-cycle gas turbine power station in Turkey. The station will be built at Marmara Ereglisi, 100 km west of Istanbul. The plant will be built by ABB under a turnkey contract, with the station to be operational toward the end of 1998.

OTurkey has Europe?s fastest growing demand for electricity, with capacity expected to almost double to 30,000 MW by 2000,O said Keith Henry, National Power?s CEO.
