There are currently several projects underway to reinforce and interconnect the transmission networks of southern Africa?s nations. These projects include the recent inauguration link to carry power to Zimbabwe from the Cahora Bassa dam in western Mozambique, and the establishment of Motraco, a joint venture between Mozambique, South Africa and Swaziland. This venture is set to improve power supplies in southern Mozambique and Swaziland. Kenya is also investing in the reinforcement of its transmission network.
