Peruvian thermoelectric plant submits EIS

Peru’s Refesa has presented its environmental impact study (EIS) to the authorities as part of the approval process for a 230 MW thermoelectric project, BNamericas reports.

The plant is estimated to cost about $100m and will be built over a period of 20 months, according to official documents cited in the news report.

Cobra and Enersa are part of the Refesa consortium, and won the contract with an offer of a monthly tariff of $7627/MW.

In July 2011, the consortium won a 20-year concession with the Peruvian State.
