Germany’s E.ON may invest in Brazil

E.ON, the German utility, has sent a team of experts to identify potential investment opportunities in Brazil, according to a report by BNamericas.

E.ON currently does not have a presence in the Latin American country.

According to a source, the European power company is seeking potential investments in the renewable energy sector. No further details were made available.

The news follows a report in the Wall Street Journal that said E.ON, which recently posted a quarterly net loss of $2.23bn, has identified “new priority regions”, including India, Turkey and Brazil.
