The risk of rationing electricity supplies in Bolivia has not been ruled out because its capacity reserve is at an all-time low, says the Opinion newspaper.

According to the publication, reserves are about 4 per cent of the required capacity, which is significantly less than the desired 10 per cent.

The committee in charge of energy supply reportedly fears a collapse of the South American nation’s energy system.

However, energy authorities have emphasized supplies are guaranteed for the time being and simultaneously launched a campaign to promote the efficient use of electricity.
