Despite Chile’s Supreme Court ordering the suspension of the Central Castilla project, Brazilian power generator MPX Energia says it will continue to participate in the Chilean power market.

Jorge Bunster, Chile’s energy minister, welcomed MPX’s decision, which confirms the Chile as an “interesting” destination for foreign investments.

Bunster added that the government of Chile “respects contracts” and investors can “safely develop their projects”, reports La Tercera.

MPX and its German partner E.ON see Chile as an attractive market that  complements their main market in Brazil.
