Bolivia is eyeing neighbouring countries such as Brazil, Argentina , Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile to export its energy, said Bolivian Vice President Alvaro Garcia Linera.

He added that “the export market is huge” and said that Chile will also be part of the country’s market for power supply.

Bolivia currently produces around 1600 MW of electricity and expects to increase it to 4300 MW in five years, of which 2500 will be exported.

The vice president also said that the first destinations will be Uruguay and Paraguay, and it will look to establish a subsidiary of Empresa Nacional de Electricidad (Ende) in Argentina.
