Alstom bags $17m Columbia transmission deals

Alstom has won contracts worth around $17m for transmission projects in Colombia.

The deals involve the supply of seven power transformers and the construction of two 220 kV gas-insulated substations.

The transformers contract was awarded by Interconexiàƒ³n Eléctrica for Alstom to supply seven transformers to connect a substation to the national grid, while the substation deal is with Empresa de Energàƒa de Bogotàƒ¡. Both projects are due to be commissioned next year.

Juan Jorge Celis, president of Alstom Colombia, said the work would “play a major role in the development of Colombia’s national grid expansion” and added that the deals “further strengthen our market share and commercial presence in the country”.
