Steel producer SSAB has installed waste heat recovery equipment at its Borlänge Plant (pictured), located northwest of Stockholm in Sweden. The system, developed by Climeon AB uses this energy to generate electricity.

The Climeon Ocean system is designed to capture low temperature heat from 70-130 oC and produces an annual output of some 700 MWh.

The Borlänge system is the first commercial reference for the technology.
