24seven, the network management services company set up by TXU and London Electricity, yesterday launched its new IT system to become the first in the UK utility industry to implement the SAP Work Management system.
24seven selected Logica, working with SAP as its chosen partner, to handle the project which, was completed in ten months. The system enables 24seven to address the challenges of delivering improved service levels whilst reducing the cost of managing and maintaining assets.
The SAP system replaces a legacy system and provides an state-of-the-art IT platform spanning finance, payroll, HR, procurement and inventory management, materials handling as well as work management. The end-to-end solution is a tool for its network operations centre and in dealing with customer enquiries, managing customer connections projects and contract services, as well as scheduling field staff for maintenance and fault resolution.

24seven provide an end-to-end network management service to asset owners in the water and gas, as well as electricity sectors, in Western Europe, the US and the UK. It currently operates the electricity networks serving London on behalf of London Power Networks (LPN) and the Eastern region, on behalf of TXU Europe Distribution.
