Poland’s G-8 bidding re-opened

27 September 2002 – Following the collapse of negotiations between Germany’s E.ON and the Polish treasury over the sale of a majority stake in G-8, Poland’s largest power distribution group, the treasury has invited six bidders to tender new bids.

Invitations to re-submit offers will be addressed to E.ON, Poland’s El-Dystrybucja, Belgium’s Electrabel, Irish state-owned power company ESB, and Spanish utilities, Endesa and Iberdrola. The deadline is set for 7 October.
