Solartron, Ansaldo partner for CMS installation in Italy

Solartron Instruments Inc., in conjunction with Ansaldo Energia, has successfully commissioned a Monsor turbine on-line condition monitoring system (CMS) at Mincio Thermal Power Station in Italy. The system is expected to make a major contribution to the station`s program to extend the operating life of its 80- and 160-MW turboalternators.

MTU Friedrichshafen receives compact cogeneration plant order

MTU Friedrichshafen of Presseabteilung, Germany, received its first order for delivery of two gas-turbine plants for continuous generation of power and heat from Wintershall AG. Wintershall is installing modern cogenerating plants in its oil refinery facilities in Lingen to replace two old boilers used for steam production. Together with the gas turbines, existing steam turbines will be used to generate electricity and fulfill the refinery`s steam requirements.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries delivers generators to Belgian nuclear station

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) has completed manufacture of three steam generators for the power generation plant of Semo S.A. in Belgium. The generators will be installed in the pressurized-water reactor plant at Semo`s Tihange-1 nuclear power station, 70 km southeast of Brussels.
