New chief operating officer appointed at Vestas

Jean-Marc Lechàƒªne, has been appointed new chief operating officer (COO) at Vestas Wind Systems.

He will have responsibility for the company’s manufacturing and sourcing and his main task will be to ensure the cost out process on key technologies in close collaboration with Vestas’ R&D unit, Vestas Turbines R&D.

Jean-Marc Lechàƒªne has considerable experience in the production industry, working in global leading companies in France, the USA, Canada and China. In Jean-Marc Lechàƒªne’s previous positions he has had the operational responsibility for several factories and the task of redefining strategy and improving profitability.

Mr Lechàƒªne, who holds an MBA from INSEAD and a master’s degree from àƒâ€°cole des Mines de Paris, a leading French engineering school, will move to Denmark on the 1st July 2012.
