FLS miljo picks up FGD contract at Polaniec station

FLS miljo, a Danish environmental management firm, has received a contract for two flue gas desulfurization systems from the Polaniec power station in Poland.

This project started four years ago with preliminary studies of the air pollution at the Polish utility. The two FGD systems will clean gases from four of Polaniec?s eight coal-fired units, each with a 200-MW capacity. FLS expects the project to take another four years to complete. FLS commissioned its first FGD system at the Danish power station Avedorevaerket in 1990 and has since contracted with Vestkraft power station, a Danish utility and four Finnish power stations.
