PRINCETON, N.J., May 31, 2001 à‚– Exide Technologies has appointed David G. Enstone as President, Transportation-Europe, in addition to his current position as Senior Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Service.
In his new role, Enstone will have full responsibility for leading Exide Technologies’ day-to-day transportation operations in Europe and for implementing key productivity-improvement initiatives identified by the company’s European transportation leadership team.
Priorities for the European operation include improved communication throughout the organization, profitable growth, improved customer satisfaction, a reduction in working capital, and reductions in manufacturing and logistics costs through the implementation of lean principles. Enstone will continue to report to Craig H. Muhlhauser, President and Chief Operating Officer of Exide Technologies, with dotted-line responsibility to Thomas O. Minner, President of the company’s Transportation Business Group.
“David is uniquely prepared to take on this additional responsibility,” said Muhlhauser. “His broad experience with companies like Lucas Aerospace, United Technologies and Visteon will bring insight and innovation to Exide’s European transportation operations as we move forward with our initiatives in the region.
