Virta is providing its IT platform to act as the digital backbone of E.ON’s Drive charging network.
The technology is expected to improve the accessibility and user experience of E.ON’s EV charging network and will facilitate the switch to electric mobility for companies and private customers.
The platform will respond to the challenge of increased volatility in the energy network caused by the growing demand for the use of renewables and optimise energy flow behind the charging stations to avoid energy peaks, while reducing the cost for the end user.
The announcement follows E.ON and Virta launching the solution in Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, UK and Romania.
The technology is set to be launched in Hungary, Italy, Denmark, Germany and Norway by the end of the year.

Virta’s platform has received the Technology Innovation Award from Frost & Sullivan.
