August 12 2002 – United Group Ltd., an Australian diversified engineering services company, said Monday it has won A$170m worth of new water contracts.
The new projects will be carried out by the group’s management, industrial maintenance and construction business, United KG.
United Group said the projects include a contract with Sydney Water Corp. to connect sewerage services to 6000 customers in Sydney.
In addition, United Group has also been selected as the preferred alliance partner to provide operations and maintenance services to the Water Corp. of Western Australia. The five year contract is valued at A$70m.
United Group Chief Executive Richard Leupen said the new contracts will bring its order book to more than A$1.3bn.
“Securing these projects is a significant milestone in strengthening United Group’s water and wastewater credentials,” he said in a statement.
