UK companies are poised to seize Smart Grid business opportunities in Asia, particularly Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea.
Government body UK Trade & Investment today unveiled the interim findings of a research project called Smart Cities of the Future in Asia: The Opportunities for UK Business’.
The report highlights key projects that offer significant opportunities for British businesses, including a $7bn Smart Grid programme in South Korea.
Vince Cable, UK Business Secretary and co-chairman of the Asia Task Force, today said: “Having recently returned from a visit to Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam, where I saw the dynamic pace of growth in the cities there, and the significant potential for British business this presents, it is encouraging to see detailed analysis of some of the opportunities highlighted in these findings.”
The full UK Trade & Investment report will be published in February at the ‘Explore Asia – a world of opportunities for UK companies’ conference.
