Italian company Turboden has won a contract for what will be the biggest Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) plant in Taiwan.
The deal will see Turoden add one of its ORC units to equipment at an existing biomass plant to recover saturated steam at low pressure and turn it into 10 MW of electricity.
Turboden ” part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ” says it is “aggressively approaching Asian countries with very good results”.
Chief executive Paolo Bertuzzi said an increasing number of industrial companies were turning to ORC technology to lower emissions and increase efficiencies.
He said other companies in Taiwan in the glass, cement and steel industries are approaching Turboden “to lower their carbon footprint by installing an ORC turbogenerator”.
