State-owned company PowerGrid has awarded Furukawa Electric Co. and Nissho Iwai Corp. a x15bn ($124m) order to lay two high voltage power cables underground in Singapore. The two companies are to lay a 230 kV, 27 km cable between Senoko power station and the Tampines substation, and a 400 kV, 16 km cable linking Tuas power station with the Jurong substation.
