Shandong Huaneng power generation increases 10.86% in 2000

BEIJING, Oct 23, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) à‚– New York-listed Shandong Huaneng Power Development Co. Ltd (NYSE: SH) announced today its power generation for the first three quarters of 2000 was 12,250 GWh, representing a 10.86 per cent increase from the same period last year.

Excluding the new generation from the Rizhao Plant Phase I (2 x 350 MW) which began commercial operation on April 11, 2000, total generation from the Company’s other three plants represents 81.84 per cent of the planned annual gross generation for the full year of 2000.

The gross generation of each of the Shandong Huaneng plants in the first three quarters of 2000 is shown in the table below.

Shandong Huaneng currently holds interest in four operating power plants, including the Dezhou Plant (100%), the Jining Plant (75%), the Weihai Plant (60%) and the Rizhao Plant (25.5%), all located in China’s Shandong Province. The four plants have a total installed capacity of 3,050 MW, of which the Company’s proportionate ownership is 2,113.5 MW.
