Raytheon receives power contracts

Raytheon Engineers & Constructors has announced approximately (US)$500 million in contracts, including a (US)$200 million award from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) for engineering and procurement services for a 1,320 MW coal-fired power plant in Zhuhai in the Guangdong Province of China. MHI will supply boilers, turbines and construction for the plant and a (US)$190 million award for engineering, procurement and construction services for a 450-MW barge-mounted power plant to be located in Port Qasim, Karachi, Pakistan. A consortium of Raytheon and Westinghouse, which will supply major equipment for the plant, has been awarded a (US)$382 million contract for the project from WAK Orient Power & Light Ltd. of Pakistan.
