MHI appoints new Latin American and Asia-Pacific chiefs

Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has created new posts of chief regional officers in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific.

The move is intended to strengthen MHI’s relationships with government agencies and customers in the two regions and boost power generation business.

The chief regional officer of Latin America will be Yoshihiko Aihara, currently general manager of MHI’s Machinery & Steel Infrastructure Systems division, while his Asia-Pacific counterpart will be Yukinori Horiguchi, presently senior vice-president of Global Strategic Planning & Operations Headquarters. Aihara will be based in Brazil and Horiguchi in Singapore. They take up their roles on September 1 and October 1 respectively.

MHI said today that the Asia-Pacific region today is its “most important market” while it “enjoys a long relationship with the Latin America region and has an abundant delivery track record there, especially in power generation systems”.
