The Zakum Development Company (ZADCO), through its local partner Al Ahlia Oilfields Development Company, has awarded RWG a maintenance services contract for the overhaul and upgrade of multiple Industrial Avon gas generators (pictured) used to enhance oil and gas production processes.

This contract, valued in excess of £5 million ($7.6 million), has an initial term of three years with an option to extend to five years, enabling ZADCO to upgrade their industrial Avon fleet to increase performance and ensure high levels of equipment reliability. ZADCO is a joint venture company established to develop the Upper Zakum oil field on behalf of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), ExxonMobil and Japan Oil Development Company Ltd (JODCO).

The agreement provides a comprehensive scope of maintenance services including overhaul and upgrade of two gas generators to the latest ‘Avon 200’ standard. In addition, RWG will deliver local field service, technical support and assist ZADCO personnel with routine maintenance tasks, trouble shooting and periodic gas generator inspection.

Mohamed Al Marzouqi, Senior Manager Maintenance Services, Operation Support, ZADCO said: ‘ZADCO has a strategic target to increase sustainable production to 750 thousand barrels of oil per day by 2015. Essential to achievement of this goal is the upgrade of existing production assets to enhance performance and reliability.’
