Kokam develops energy storage system for KEPCO

Battery company Kokam is developing a 36 MW energy storage system for South Korea’s largest utility Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).

The system will be used for frequency regulation at the Non-Gong substation in South Korea.Kokam in KEPCO energy strorage project

The project features a combination of two Kokam lithium ion battery technologies ” its Ultra High Power Nickel Manganese Cobalt battery and itsà‚ NANO technology.

Work on the project began in June and is scheduled to be completed by December.

South Korea’s Kokamà‚ has alreadyà‚ deployed two battery storage systems for KEPCO with a 56 MW capacity for frequency regulation. à‚
