HI Energy plans coke, cogen site

HI Energy, Texas, USA, has announced a deal with Jagan Mohan Reddy, an Indian entrepreneur, for a $94 million coke calcining plant to be built by 1997 in India. A cogeneration plant will be built adjacent to the coke plant in Visakhapatnam. The cogeneration plant, fueled by gases recovered from the petroleum coke, supplies steam to the coke plant. All of the electricity produced, 49 MW, will be sold in the province of Andhra Pradesh.
