GE to boost stake in China

General Electric Co. (GE) has announced plans to increase investments in China by (US)$300 to $500 million in the coming three to five years. GE is negotiating possible joint ventures for manufacture of generating equipment, household appliances and power plants, according to Cheng Meiwei, GE China chairman. GE has invested (US)$150 million to date setting up GE China and other manufacturing firms.
