GE gets lower price

Stewart & Stevenson Services has agreed to pay $84m to General Electric, lowering the price GE will have paid for the company`s gas turbine business by 14 per cent to $516m. Part of the adjustment is due to weaker demand in Asia, which caused the backlog of work to decline between the time the sale was negotiated and the closing.
