ExxonMobil has commenced construction of a new 84 MW cogeneration facility at the Jurong site in Singapore.

The plant is designed to increase the refinery’s energy efficiency.

The company added that when the latest cogeneration facility is completed in 2017, it will have more than 440 MW of capacity in Singapore.

The unit adds to the existing 360-megawatt cogeneration capacity at ExxonMobil‘s integrated refining and petrochemical complex, which currently meets all of its internal power needs on Jurong Island.
