Calls for papers

The World Council of Power Utilities has issued a call for participation for the “First International Conference and Exhibition on Green Power: The Need for the 21st Century,” to be held Feb. 12-14, 1997, at the Hotel Taj Palace in New Delhi, India. The main topics of the conference will be policy alternatives and options for power development, electrical power and energy requirements and accelerated use of nonconventional energy sources to meet demand, electric power generation options and use of clean-coal technologies for SOx and NOx reduction, transmission and distribution, power quality, improving operations with better energy management, environmental impact assessments, and financing capacity expansion. An industry-wide call for abstracts has been issued for Arab Electricity `97, with submissions invited on all subjects of interest to the conference audience, including, but not limited to, generation technology; network technologies, control and interconnection; distribution technology and customer services, and finance and restructuring. The International District Energy Association (IDEA) has issued a call for papers for “Global District Energy: Investing in Energy Infrastructure” to be held June 14-17, 1997, in San Diego, Calif., USA. Session topics are scheduled to include investment issues, combined heat and power, environmental policy and regulation, heating technologies, cooling technologies, international, marketing, customer service, finance and administration, and system management and operations.
