Black & Veatch takes Tuoketuo station contract
US-based Black & Veatch has been awarded a (US)$2 million contract from the Inner Mongolia Power Bureau and China Electric Power Technology & Trade Corp. to review specifications and project design and to supervise construction of the 1,320-MW Tuoketuo Thermal Power Station in China.
The World Bank is funding the project and selected Black & Veatch for the work, which includes training plant personnel. The facility is scheduled for completion in 2000 or 2001. The plant is a mine-mouth facility several hundred miles west of Beijing, where the station`s power will be used.
