Black & Veatch awarded project
Black & Veatch (B&V) International has been awarded a contract by Hanwha Energy Company Ltd. for South Korea`s first major repowering project. The work will boost the efficiency of a 460-MW power plant at Inchon. Commercial operation is scheduled for January 1997. The project includes the of three heat-recovery steam generators to the exhaust of three existing Westinghouse combustion turbines. Steam from the heat-recovery steam generators will be used to repower the plant`s existing 160-MW steam turbine.
B&V has also announced a (US)$2 million contract from the Inner Mongolia Power Bureau and China Electric Power Technology and Trade Corp. Under this contract B&V will review specifications, and design and supervise construction of the 2 x 600-MW Tuoketuo Thermal Power Station in China. The Work Bank is funding the project.
