MYR Group Inc. signed a contract worth $160 million to build a 345 kV transmission line in Texas.
The deal with Cross Texas Transmission, a unit of LS Power, calls for a 235-mile-long transmission line as part of the Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ) throughout the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
As part of the contract, MYR Transmission Services Inc. will provide construction management, material procurement and construction services, including right-of-way clearing, environmental controls and foundation and structure installation.
Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2011 with an expected completion date of spring of 2013.
