Tridium Inc. expands internationally with European headquarters

LONDON, Jan. 12, 2001 à‚– Tridium Inc., a provider of web-enabled, automation software infrastructure and applications, today announced the opening of its European headquarters in the United Kingdom. The company also named Leo Quinn as president of its European, Middle Eastern and African operations.

௿½We decided to run our international operations from the U.K. because of its strong financial community, excellent talent pool and easy access to major markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa,௿½ said Gerald Frank, president and CEO of Tridium. ௿½Leo Quinn is the ideal candidate to lead this operation because of his extensive experience in the building automation industry and with international markets.௿½

Prior to joining Tridium, Quinn was president of Enterprise Solutions and Services for Honeywell International, where he was responsible for the company௿½s $2 billion Global Enterprise Solutions business.

௿½Europeans are known for being leading adopters of new technology, as well as for being very focused on energy conservation,௿½ Quinn said. ௿½Tridium௿½s products will allow international companies to gather information about energy consumption, operating costs and building occupancy, and use that data to make informed building management decisions. We anticipate great interest for our products in the building automation and energy services sectors, as well as the industrial automation and home automation markets throughout Europe and the rest of the world.௿½

Tridium is expected to employ up to 50 people across Europe within the next twelve months and plans to open offices in France and Germany within the same time frame, with additional sales offices and software engineering centers for support in other major European, Middle Eastern and African countries to follow.
