Siemens opens cybersecurity centre to monitor plants

Siemens has opened a cybersecurity operation centre for the protection of industrial facilities including power plants.

The move comes as the security of power facilities is a hot topic following the successful hacking and shutdown of energy assets in Ukraine (click here for story).Siemens opens cybersecurity centre

The Siemens centre is split across three locations ” Lisbon, Munich and Ohio in the US.

Security specialists based at these sites monitor industrial facilities all around the world for cyber threats, warn companies in the event of incidents or threats and coordinate countermeasures.
