Jan. 1, 2001—An upcoming conference to be held in Toronto will serve as a U.S.-Canada business strategy forum for cross-border trade and environmental leadership in the New Economy.

Originally scheduled for late 2000, the EECO 2000 conference was moved to Jan. 29 and Jan. 30 to accommodate federal elections, conference management said.

The conference will emphasize environmental leadership and technology innovation for the Great Lakes region in the major economic sectors of manufacturing, transportation and urban development and infrastructure.

The event could attract more than 500 corporate leaders from the U.S. and Canada, organizers from the Globe Foundation of Canada said.
