Wind power producers in Brazil should participate in the upcoming transmission infrastructure auctions, so that they can aviod having stranded assets and therefore no power sales.

State-owned companies are reluctant to invest in transmission projects because they do not have enough money.

Bloomberg TV channel recently confirmed that in Brazil alone there was 333 MW of installed capacity that is not producing electricity because of the lack of transmission lines.

Among the projects about to be put out to tender is a 900-km transmission line in Bahia state.
