Spanish company Neoelectra, controlled by American fund Sandton Capital, aims to reinforce its activity in the cogeneration sector by purchasing new plants in Spain and entering the Portuguese and Mexican markets.
Neoelectra is the owner of 19 cogeneration plants in Spanish territory that total 164 MW. The company aims to reach 400 MW within the coming three years, according to a report by Spanish newspaper Expansión. To get that, it will invest €100m in Mexico.
Neoelectra also wants to expand its activity to other energy sources, such as wind power and small-scale hydropower plants.
