Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has announced the construction of cogeneration projects to generate its own electricity and sell the surplus on the energy market, according to media reports.

The state-owned company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dominion Technologies to form a firm aimed at the joint implementation of cogeneration projects.

It is expected to take the power projects to various stations of regulation and measurement of natural gas.

This will harness the energy disseminated by now-traditional equipment in the process of expansion of natural gas, the firm said.
