UK-headquartered OMM clinched the engineering-procure-install and commission deal from Chilean electrical company Grupo Saesa following an international tender.

OMM will provide cable route design, surveys, and the installation of marine resources.

OMM chief operating officer Eckhard Bruckschen said: “We’re delighted to be involved in laying the first submarine power cable installed in the country. It is a ground-breaking project and a huge step forward towards the goal of supplying electrical power to remote areas of Chile.”
