Argentinean distribution companies Edes, Eden and Edea, together with Brazilian constructing company Odebrecht, have approached the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) for funding to improve the grid in the province of Buenos Aires.
The project will cover the construction of 12 transformer substations, ten grid extensions, totaling 470 km of 132 kV power lines, and a new communication system to increase grid integration, reports BNamericas.
If the loan is awarded, works is expected to start in March 2014.
The upgrade will increase the capacity of Buenos Aires’s provincial grid by 800 MW.
