MILAN, Italy, June 14, 2002 — Alstom has completed delivery of six Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) to Panda Energy International, Inc. (Panda) and four HRSGs to Tampa Electric Company (TECO), it was announced at POWER-GEN Europe.

The six Panda HRSGs are part of a multi-unit supply agreement signed during 2000. Four have been delivered to the Union Power Facility, in Eldorado, Arkansas, and two have been delivered to the Gila River Facility, in Gila Bend, Arizona. Both projects are being built as a joint venture between Panda Energy and TEC Power Services, a subsidiary of TECO Energy, based in Tampa, Florida (NYSE:TE).

Each project will eventually have 8 Alstom HRSGs operating in a combined cycle configuration that will generate 2300 MW.

The four TECO HRSGs are part of a seven unit order awarded during 2000. These are being supplied in “C-Frame Modules,” a design that allows the twelve modules that comprise each HRSG to be erected within five working days of being received.

All deliveries to date have been completed ahead of schedule.

Both the TECO and Panda HRSGs are using a “reference plant” design that is lowering costs and speeding delivery while allowing for necessary site-specific design changes. Alstom is providing its OCCTM HRSG design, which utilises fewer pressure-part modules and benefits from unique piping arrangements that result in lower field erection
