Vestas R&D UK boss quits

Vestas R&D UK managing director Rob Sauven has resigned after 25 years’ service, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer has confirmed on its website.

Mr Sauven has been based at the company’s facility on the Isle of Wight, England, where Vestas (OMX:à‚ VWS) is currently developing its V164-8MW offshore wind prototype.

No reason was given for the departure but Sauven will remain an employee until April 2014.

Vestas said Servet Sert, Vestas Technology & Service Solution senior vice president of industrialisation, will take on the role until a replacement is found.

A spokesman said: “I can confirm that Rob Sauven has resigned from his position as managing director of Vestas R&D UK.à‚  A selection process for a replacement has been initiated.”

He added: “Rob has successfully led and grown Vestas’ blades development organisation throughout the past 25 years and we thank him for his dedication and leadership in this area.
