The Marena Renovables wind farm will be built in southern Mexico and will be operated by Marena Renovables, a consortium comprising Macquarie Mexican Infrastructure Fund, Mitsubishi Corp, and PGGM, a Dutch pension fund service provider.

Juan Araluce, chief sales officer at Vestas Wind Systems said the turnkey contract was a “milestone” for the company and would give it the opportunity to strengthen its position in Latin America.
Vestas opened headquarters for latin America in 2010 and currently has orders in Mexico and the Caribbean region for a total capacity of 642 MW.
