Turbine manufacturer Repower Systems brought in revenues of €626 million ($864 million) in the first half of the 2011/2012 financial year, up from €499 million a year earlier.

According to preliminary figures from its interim report, the Hamburg-based company installed or supplied a total of 489 MW of capacity. Last year the total capacity was 399 MW and Repower says a key driver behind the rise is the installation of turbines at the Ormonde offshore wind farm currently being built off the UK in the Irish Sea.

Repower is due to publish its full interim half year report next month.
