Windpower company Nordex has closed the first half of this year with a record number of installations in Germany.

A total of 134 new turbines installed marks an increase of 135 per cent over the same period last year.

At the same time, Nordex said that it “took increasingly larger turbines online during this period, as a result of which, average capacity per turbine rose from 2.3 MW to around 2.6 MW”.

Jörg Hempel, Nordex managing director for the German market, said the company now has “an optimum turbine for every location”.

Nordex did the most business in Bavaria, followed by Baden-Württemberg.
